If you are like us, having the luxury of a separate room from the kids is a huge bonus when on a family trip. Whether it is to reduce disturbing other family members from your jet lag, watch a movie with your partner whilst the kids sleep (no one likes to hang out in the bathroom whilst the kids sleep right?) or just to have your space and privacy, a 2 bedroom suite can make a huge difference.

Onsite 2 bedroom suites near Disney World

The one, two and three bedroom suites on site typically offer:

• A fully equipped kitchen
• Living and dining areas
• Separate bedrooms
• A washer and dryer

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort, Old Key West, part of the Disney Springs Resort area offers 1, 2 and 3 bedroom villa options with access to the parks via boat and bus.

The Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort and The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Copper Creek Villas are close to Magic Kingdom and have one, two and three bedroom options. Disneys Polynesian Resort has 2 bedroom Bungalows, a full kitchen and also offers park access via boat, monorail and bus. Copper Creek Villas and Cabin park access is via boat and bus only.

Boulder Ridge at Wilderness is also closest to Magic Kingdom and has one and two bedroomed villas with park access by boat and bus.

Disneys Animal Kingdom Villas- Kidani Village has one, two and three bedroom villas, with fully fitted kitchens and park access via bus. Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House has one and 3 bed only, again with park access via bus.

The Boardwalk Villas, Disney's Beach Club, are close to Epcot and have one, two, three bedroom villas, with full fitted kitchen and bus and boat access to parks, whereas the Riveria has access via bus and Skyliner.

There are a couple of other cheaper onsite options for Disney World, although these are not technically 2 bedroom suites at Disney World.

Disney's All Star Resort Suite is a one bedroom suite but has sofa bed options in the lounge area. These also have a microwave, kitchenette & 2 bathrooms. A huge benefit of this hotel is that it is connected to the Skyliner, making it very easy to get to the Epcot and Hollywood Studios parks.

Art of Animation has family suites: Nemo Suites, Cars Suite and Lion King Suites. Again, these have one proper bedroom and a separate lounge area with 2 sofa beds. All of the suites can sleep to 6 adults, with two bathrooms and a kitchenette. It is also connected to the Skyliner for easy access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

Alternatively, most Disney hotels have the option of connecting rooms, so if you wanted to stay onsite you could book two standard rooms at any Disney World value resort (the cheapest option), which would give you 4 double beds and 2 bathrooms in total.

Blue Heron Beach Resort Lake Bryon 3.5*

The Blue Heron Beach Resort lakefront resort is in the midst of Lake Buena Vista,  featuring one- and two-bedroom, condominium-style/apartment suites.

• Distance from WDW: One mile from the entrance to the Walt Disney World and located just off Interstate 4 at exit 68.

Enclave suites

The Enclave Suites are centrally based with studio, one and two bedroom suites. Some rooms are of the older style room. Newer rooms are white, with no carpets. Washers and dryers coin operated facilities. Kitchenette fully kitted out, fridge, kettle, coffee machine and cutlery/plates.

This family friendly hotel is located just off the i-drive and a 20 minute walk to Universal or a 20 minute drive to Disney if you are using your own or Uber.

This popular, beautifully landscaped resort in International Drive, (Named TripAdvisor's #1 Family hotel in the U.S.and #5 in the world in 2016) offers 2 and 3 bedroom suites with a separate lounge area. The twin room has two double beds inside and suites have a fully fitted kitchen and a washer/dryer.

The resort's main pool features a fun water playscape area for kids, while the second pool offers a quieter environment with a relaxing Jacuzzi. Both pools remain heated at 83 degrees year round and have a poolside bar and grill. Pools are open from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Towels are provided.

The fairly new Grove Resort is where we stayed. It boasts an onsite waterpark, sandy beach areas, several pools, a boating lake with swan boats, modern, fully equipped apartments/condo style, an onsite restaurant, wifi. You can choose between one, two and three bedroomed suites, which either have an ensuite or bathroom nearby. We absolutely LOVED our stay here and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Homewood Suites I-drive (by Hilton)

Homewood Suites are situated on the International Drive not far from the wheel, with a mixture of one and two bedroomed suites surrounding a central rectangular pool. Self parking and wifi is complimentary. Enjoy the convenience of a full kitchen, with full-sized refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, twin burner stove and utensils. The laundry area is on the 5th floor which cost about $4 to use. An added bonus is breakfast is included and the managers special happy hour with drinks and snack in the early evening.

Hotel is ideally located for visiting Universal Studios approx 15 mins away by hotel provided free shuttle bus. Convention center is a 10 minute walk south as is Andretti & TopGolf, The Eye & other attractions are 5 minutes north.

Sheraton Vistana Resort Lake Buena Vista

Sheraton Vistana Resort Lake Buena Vista offers one and 2 bedroomed villas in lush landscaped gardens and is very close to WDW.

Suites have fully equipped kitchen, lounge, spa bath, daily scheduled resort transportation to the Walt Disney Resort & Universal Orlando Resort. No free shuttle There's nothing within quick walking distance though. The nearest place is Publix (supermarket) 3/4 mile away.

Uber to Universal Studios cost about $15. Uber back from Disney is about $6. There is a Walmart/Walgreens next door to the complex. Applebee's, chick-f-a, Wendy's next door and a mini golf across the road.

Marriott Harbour Lake has one and two bedroomed villas with fully equipped kitchens, separate living and dining areas. Ramada Plaza Resort and Suites by Wyndham, 6500 International Drive is within walking distance to restaurants, attractions and shopping. Guests have free continental breakfast included. One bedroomed suites have a small kitchenette with microwave and fridge. Laundry is available onsite. A free shuttle to Epcot is also available. Universal is a 10 minute Uber drive away from the hotel Disney is a little bit further. The pool is on the small side and mostly shaded.

Sonesta Es Suites on International Drive 3*

Sonesta Es Suites on International Drive has two-bedroom suites which accommodate six, and one-bedroom suites sleep four and "trios" — two bedrooms and baths —which sleep eight. This popular family friendly hotel has a fully equipped kitchen in the suites.

A resort fee of $15 per room, per night (tax inclusive), will be added to the final bill for use of the hotel's guest shuttle to Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando, Self-Parking, and Enhanced Wireless Internet.  Walking distance from many restaurants in a great location.

On-site laundry facilities, self-parking, Wi-Fi, and complimentary breakfast are offered to all of our guests. They run a Kid's Club on Tues/Thurs/Sun for a couple of hours.
